Requirements for travel continue to change. Here’s a current look at what’s needed today. If you have any questions or need more information on the requirements, please contact Skyservice.
1) DEPARTURE REQUIREMENTS FROM CANADA
All individuals departing from a Canadian airport to any destination are required to show proof of being fully vaccinated or providing a valid temporary exemption request along with a proof of a valid negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72-hours prior to departure. These requirements are in effect for all air travelers 12 years and four months of age and older.
The following vaccines are approved in Canada:
Sinopharm;
Sinovac;
COVAXIN;
Pfizer-BioNTech;
Moderna;
AstraZeneca; and
Janssen/Johnson & Johnson.
2) PRE-FLIGHT SCREENING & ON-BOARD REQUIREMENTS
Pre-flight screening remain in effect. All customers experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, regardless of destination, will be unable to board an aircraft. Masks are requested to be worn in cabin when social distancing is unavailable.
3) INTERNATIONAL & TRANSBORDER FLIGHTS
The Canadian border is open to all American citizens and International individuals, who qualify as fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination is required.
4) ENTERING CANADA BY AIR
Canadian and International travelers entering Canada must be fully vaccinated*. Pre-arrival COVID-19 testing is required. As of Feb 28, 2022, Antigen tests will also be accepted for fully vaccinated travelers provided they are completed one calendar day prior departure, and show a negative result. Molecular testing continues to be accepted and must be completed less than 72 hours prior to departure, or in situations where a prior antigen test prevented travel due to a positive result. A molecular test is also required for any individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10-180 days.
*These requirements are in effect for all air travelers 12 years and four months of age and older.
More information on Canadian entry requirements are here.
5) CONTINUATION OF ARRIVE CAN FORM SUBMISSION PRIOR TO ENTRY
All travelers entering Canada are required to complete and submit an ArriveCAN (free mobile app or website) form.
6) RANDOM TESTING
All travelers entering Canada may be selected for a random COVID-19 test. Tested travelers are not required to be quarantined prior to receiving test results. Should an individual under 12 be selected, they will be asked to provide a negative COVID-19 test result prior to returning to school. Rapid tests will be accepted in this situation.
